Friday Show and Tell

Lindy Chaffin Start - Decatur, GA

Mmmmm...Dump Cake!
1 15 oz can of cherry pie filling
1 15 oz can of pineapple tidbits
1 box yellow cake mix
1 cup butter
Layer cherries, then pineapple, sprinkle with cake mix, then drizzle with melted butter. Poke holes strategically to make sure the butter gets to the bottom of the pan. Bake at 350 degrees until the top is golden brown and the bottom is bubbly. Enjoy with your favorite vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Easy-peazy and delicious. Enjoy!

Masks and wigs and tights, oh, my!
Labor Day is over and fall is in the air. Still, I couldn't help but shake my head when I saw this display already up at the grocery store this week. Can the Christmas decorations be far behind?

Love pineapple and cherries, so there you go. Will try to do it between Thanksgiving and Christmas, when I'm able to eat such goodies.

All the stores have their Halloween stuff out now. The $s spent on the holiday are second only to Christmas now. How fun is that? Will have to be especially good this year, but it's on a Monday and I may be working by then. Thanks!

Yummo! That Dump Cake looks delish! Am writing down the recipe now.

We are so ready for Halloween at our house. Just got back from Hobby Lobby in fact and I could spend forever wondering those isles. I know, I know. It is too soon, but I do love the anticipation. Ohhhh and they already have half the store stocked for Christmas. (don't tell anyone but I did buy some miniature Christmas ornaments for my work tree. ssshhhhhh... :)

It is hard to ignore a warm, gooey pan of somthing yummy on a chilly day.

Pam, the Halloween display made me laugh. I think the great marketeers get earlier and earlier every year. I saw Christmas on HSN over the summer. Yikes! I still have the month of thirteen birthdays to get through before I start thinking in that direction.

Casey loves pineapple and Nathan loves cherries, so this recipe was a big hit at my house, Julee. Enjoy your Halloween preparations. Sometimes I think it's more fun when you have to rely more on creativity and less on money. A few dollars at Goodwill can go a long way...

Can't wait to see what you decide on for Halloween, Tami. You'll have to post pictures. And your secret is safe with us. :-)

Thirteen birthdays! Holy cow, Lindy! You won't have any money to spend on Halloween! :-(
